Holy Baptism

Holy Baptism is full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body the Church.  The Sacrament of Holy Baptism is celebrated on appointed Sundays throughout the Church Year and is a public celebration in which we welcome the newly baptized into the life of the Church.  The practice at St. Paul’s is to baptize adults and infants during one of our Sunday services after instruction with those seeking baptism.  Those desirous of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism should contact The Rev. Brad Whitaker for more information.

Confirmation and Reception into the Episcopal Church are rooted in the Baptismal Covenant as it the time when those wishing to be confirmed or received make a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.  Our bishop, The Right Reverend Brian Cole, confirms and receives new members into the Episcopal Church after a period of study and prayer with the parish clergy and during his annual visitation to St. Paul’s which normally takes place in the spring of each year. Adults wanting more information about confirmation and reception should contact Parish Clergy for more information about joining the Confirmation Class.  Youth Confirmation Classes begin in the fall for students in 8th Grade.  Parents interested in learning more about Youth Confirmation should contact The Rev. Joe Woodfin for more information.
