The Rev. Beth Janney

The Rev. Beth Foster Janney was baptized, confirmed and married at Church of the Good Shepherd on Lookout Mountain. She is a graduate of Girls’ Preparatory School and Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She earned an M.B.A. from UTC.

Beth attended St. Peter’s Church for 21 years. In 2019, she discerned a call to the diaconate. She completed her seminary studies at Church Divinity School of the Pacific and was ordained in September 2024. Beth has been married to Alan since 1986. They have one son, Cole, who lives in Knoxville.

In July 2026, Beth left her corporate job as a memory care specialist to assume the role of Dementia Navigator for two underserved counties in Tennessee. Her new role is in keeping with her ordination vow to serve all people, particularly the poor, the weak, the sick and the lonely.
